A Bench Built for Sensor Accuracy
Applying an isolated transducer correctly is as important as choosing the right part, and because the measurement depends on the primary conductor, the magnetic environment and the isolation, the layout decides whether a design works. To support customers more effectively, BeiLuo has opened an FAE verification bench dedicated to LEM current transducers and voltage transducers. The bench lets our engineers measure offset, gain, drift, noise and isolation before a customer commits to a design, turning advice into evidence.
What We Measure
The bench is equipped with precision current sources, a thermal chamber, high-bandwidth oscilloscopes and differential probes. Engineers characterize offset and gain against a reference, measure drift over the full temperature range, and quantify noise and bandwidth with the power stage switching. For current transducers, the bench highlights how the primary conductor geometry affects accuracy, which makes the layout rules concrete. For voltage transducers, it verifies the primary-resistor sizing and the isolation behavior.
Accuracy and Drift Over Temperature
Drift is often where designs fail to meet their accuracy target. The bench measures offset and gain at several temperatures, letting us verify a customer's accuracy budget against the real device rather than a typical datasheet value. For a battery system, where low offset is critical at the zero crossing, this validation is especially valuable.
From Selection to Validation
When a customer asks which transducer suits their application, our FAE team can now validate the recommendation on the bench. We compare closed-loop and open-loop current sensors, match a voltage transducer to the bus level, and evaluate the trade of accuracy against size and cost for a given operating point. The result is a design path backed by measured data, which reduces the risk of late-stage surprises.
Isolation Validation
Isolation is a safety function, not a nice-to-have, so the bench includes insulation testing that confirms the barrier holds at the rated voltage. Where a customer's layout is tight, we can measure the isolation and advise on the required creepage and clearance before the board is released.
Supporting Customers Remotely
Not every customer can visit the bench, so our engineers share measured curves and waveforms remotely and walk customers through the interpretation. A short measurement campaign often resolves a drift or noise question that would otherwise take weeks of trial and error on the customer's own board.
Part of a Practical Service
The bench complements our stock and documentation programs. Together they mean a customer can get a genuine LEM transducer quickly, receive complete import documentation, and get measured technical support that matches the part to the job. For manufacturers who cannot afford a redesign late in a project, that combination shortens the path to a working design and keeps production on schedule.
Bring-Up Support During Design
Beyond measurement, the bench supports bring-up. When a customer's first board powers up and the current or voltage reading misbehaves, our engineers can reproduce the condition on the bench and compare the suspect reading against a reference measurement. That turns a vague symptom into a specific cause, whether it is an offset from the magnetic environment, drift from the supply, noise from the layout or an isolation problem from assembly. The result is a faster fix and a design that reaches production with confidence.
Root-Cause Sessions
We run short root-cause sessions with customers who cannot visit in person, sharing measured curves and walking through the checks in order, from the supply and the measuring resistor to the primary conductor geometry and the signal routing. Most issues are resolved in the first session, because the common causes are well understood and the measurement makes them visible.
Documentation for Audits
The bench also produces measurement records that customers can keep for their own quality files. For audit-heavy industries, having a documented characterization of the chosen sensor, performed before design release, strengthens the supply-chain file and answers questions that would otherwise surface late.
Because the bench is tied to our stocking program, a customer can validate a sample, confirm the technical choice, and receive production quantities from the same authorized channel with complete documentation, so the performance measured at bring-up is the performance that ships.
Regular calibration checks keep the reference measurements trustworthy, so the bench remains a dependable yardstick as new sensor models arrive.
